I · Keeper

Objects, for you, are not property but a charge placed in your keeping. Behind a thing you hear people, houses and years; what you have once called yours, you do not let go. Strange: guarding other people's memory so carefully, you hardly write down your own.
A Keeper sometimes mistakes loyalty for the inability to part — and holds on to what asks to move on. Passing a thing on is also a way of keeping it. Perhaps the main one.

II · Aesthete

You see before you understand — and you are almost never wrong. Composition where others see furniture; noble texture where others see wear. An object must be beautiful. Everything else it may allow itself.
Beauty can eclipse the truth: a thing of flawless form and empty history will leave you hungry — just not at once. Sometimes it is worth asking an object what it keeps silent about.

You recognise what is yours before you have time to think. A nose for the rare, the thrill of the trail, the joy of lifting what everyone else walked past — that is your element. What you found yourself is dearer than what was easily bought: the chase is part of the price.
The thrill can grow dearer than the prize: the hand reaches for the next find while the last one is still untold. To stop and finish reading an object is also an art of the hunt.

Objects, for you, are doors. You are drawn to things with an itinerary: another country, a vanished way of life, the road an object walked before it met you. Your home is a tale of the worlds you have been to — in fact, or so far only in dream.
Objects-as-routes can stand in for the journey itself: a house of doors is not yet a home. Sometimes what a thing needs is not a “where from” but a “why here.”

V · Architect

You build space by selection: removing until only the single right thing remains. The air around an object is as much your material as the object itself. You do not gather a collection — you carve it.
Selection can turn into defence: emptiness can be a wall rather than air. Sometimes a thing should be let in before the perfect place for it has been found.

VI · Aristocrat

You sense the breeding of an object — the weight, the dark wood, dignity without a raised voice. Shine does not deceive you: the genuine knows its worth and is in no hurry to prove it. Neither are you.
Dignity risks becoming armour: the worth you know in yourself can keep you from hearing an object plainer and quieter than you. The humble have breeding too.
